Pakistan - part 4
If you go to just one place in Pakistan, go to Lahore. It is
one of the most beautiful cities in Asia, and the cultural capital of the country.

The Lahore Museum. |
The best of them is the famous Lahore Museum,
by far the most interesting in Pakistan. Unfortunately, photography is not allowed
there. In front of it stands Zamzama, a giant 15th century cannon. |

But what makes Lahore so special is its wonderful
Moghul architecture, especially Badshani Mosque - one of the most beautiful in
the world. It was built in 1674 by Emperor Aurangzeb. It is a nice place to spend
some time in - you can relax in the shade, talk with visitors, or watch local
artists restore ancient walls and ceilings. |

Badshani was the largest mosque at the time it

It was built in 1700, and is said to have taken more than fifty years to fully
decorate. Its colors look best in early morning. |
