Here are the snapshots of an unidentified rodent from a videotape taken in July 2000 near Playa Jaboncillo, Guanica Forest Preserve, Puerto Rico. Because of eyeshine, the animal's eyes look bigger on these pictures, so the animal itself looks smaller. In fact, it was the size of a large Norway rat (Rattus rattus), smoky-gray with silvery tail. Young animals were almost black. If you have any ideas about its identification, please let me know.
